Mocho-Choshuenco Volcanic Complex

Mocho Volcano is an extinct stratovolcano and part of the Mocho-Choshuenco volcanic complex. The ascent to its summit offers a moderate challenge, requiring both physical effort and some technical skill. The route includes glacier travel and snow-covered slopes, leading to wide-ranging views of lakes, volcanoes, and surrounding mountains — a rewarding experience for those who reach the top. The trip includes an overnight stay at the Mocho-Choshuenco refuge, a comfortable base nestled in the heart of the Andes, perfect for rest and preparation before the climb.
